Freunde Von Freuden is one of my favorite sites. They have the most awesome collection of interviews with creative people from around the globe. This picture series is from the interview with Justine Ashbee. She is an American artist doing intricate line drawings and weavings. Her studio is found in the woods in a converted farmhouse outside Brighton where she finds the silence and time alone to do her art. She is quoted as saying this:
“I think that it’s really crucial to allow yourself to not really know why you’re interested in something but just allow that curiosity to lead you.”
Which I find extremely inspiring. Too often our creativity is lead by money and profit. But nothing truly great ever evolve from that.
